Raspberry introduced its new single-board computer, the Raspberry Pi 4. This model differs from other similar solutions in that it can display 4K video on two monitors simultaneously.
The Raspberry Pi computer is a board with a processor, USB and network controllers, audio and video connectors and an interface group of 40 contacts for connecting additional equipment, such as video cameras, light sensors or servo drives. Raspberry Pi is often used in various homemade projects.
The Raspberry Pi 4 is equipped with a Broadcom 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, a 500MHz VideoCore VI GPU video card, a USB Type-C port and two micro HDMI connectors that simultaneously support two 4K monitors at 30 frames per second or one 4K monitor at 60 frames per second. Also, the developers added two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port and Bluetooth 5.0.
A 5-volt power supply capable of delivering up to 15 watts of power is required to power the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B. According to the developers, portable batteries capable of delivering 5 volts and having a capacity of at least 12.5 watts can be used to power the computer.
Raspberry Pi 4 comes in three trim levels – with 1 GB, 2 GB and 4 GB of RAM. Devices cost between $ 35, $ 45 and $ 55, respectively.
Raspberry Pi devices can be used to create various technological devices: for example, designer computers for children, vending machines, or a robot that is oriented in sunlight. Since 2012, the company has sold more than 19 million devices.
