One year after the release of Mi Band 3, Xiaomi presents the successor to the popular fitness tracker. The Mi Band 4 is to solve the problems of its predecessor and now has a color 0.95 inch OLED screen.
The Mi Band 4 borrows the design from its predecessor. The hardware sits in a plastic housing. The rubber strap can be replaced. A heart rate monitor, gyroscope and a vibration motor are also integrated.
The Mi Band 4 connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth 5.0 and has GPS to record a route while exercising. There is also a variant with NFC to pay contactless. It is not yet known if the feature is compatible with Google Pay in others parts of the world.
There are two pins on the back of the fitness tracker to charge the 135 mAh battery. He should last about 15 to 20 days. The real star, however, is the new 0.95-inch AMOLED color display.
New software with integrated language assistant
Xiaomi also offers new software features with the Mi Band 4. The fitness tracker supports voice commands via the virtual assistant Xiao AI – but only in China. Presumably, the international variant will support the Google Assistant.
In addition, the Mi Band 4 now has controls for music playback. So you do not have to take your smartphone out of your pocket to jump to the next song. There are also weather forecasts, fitness tracker notifications and a variety of new dials.
